Arturo Tapia Velarde
Economist graduated in 1975 from Grinnell College, Iowa, United States, holding an MBA awarded in 1977 from Columbia University, New York, United States. Has over 40 years of experience in the capital markets and an impeccable business career. From 1977 to 1987, he worked in the Treasury and Capital Market units of Bank of America NT, in charge of the regional unit of treasury and fund raising for Latin America, responsible for the management of US$ 3.5 billion in assets. Founded the first Panamanian investment bank in 1987, Wall Street Securities S.A., where he held the position of President and Executive Director until 2004. He is currently the President of Tapia Economic Group, which is composed of diverse businesses that contribute to the development of the Panamanian economy.
Rodrigo Tapia Cardoze
Economist graduated from Southern Methodist University, Bachelor of Arts, in Dallas, Texas. He worked in various brokerage firms in the United States (2005 – 2010), including Oppenheimer & Co., Wachovia Securities, and Wells Fargo Advisors. He was part of a 10 person team dedicated to service institutional accounts in Latin America, offering various brokerage services, being responsible for offering detailed financial solutions in an efficient and fiduciary manner. Holds the international certification of Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) since 2013. Works in SweetWater Securities Inc. since its foundation in June 2010 and is the Vice-president of Wealth Management, responsible for the development of an adequate administrative platform to facilitate the integration of all tasks related to the management of clients’ wealth.
Fernando Tapia Cardoze
Economist graduated in 2007 from Villanova University, Bachelor of Arts, at Villanova, Pennsylvania, United States. Worked as an account executive at Lafise Valores (2007 – 2008) and as financial advisor at Geneva Asset Management (2008 – 2011). Holds the international certification of Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) since 2014. Works in SweetWater Securities Inc. since November 2011 and holds the position of Vice-president of Brokerage Services and Executive Principle, responsible for the daily management of the brokerage firm and the sustainable growth of the platform in the international custodian, Pershing LLC. His work focuses on the purchase and sale of securities in global markets and on providing financial advice and asset management services in the development, design, execution, and monitoring of clients’ investment portfolios and strategy.
Dora de Viejo
A graduate from Florida State University and the University of Panama. Worked in Bank of America N.T. & S.A., holding positions within the areas of foreign currency, accounting, operations and management. Worked in Wall Street Securities S.A. as Director of Operations and Management for over 15 years, being in charge of all settlement of securities and investment accounting, among other responsibilities. She currently occupies the position of Director of Operations of SweetWater Securities Inc., where she is responsible for managing the operations and administrative departments, and for supervising the accounting activities and processing of the company’s transactions.
Degree in Marketing with a Post-Degree in Business Management and a Master in Business Administration with emphasis in Advertising Imagery. Her professional experience since 1998 has allowed her to specialize in securities law in Panama, international markets, stock markets, financial indices, currency exchanges, among others. Holds the Securities Broker and Executive Principle License form the Superintendencia Del Mercado de Valores of Panama and works at SweetWater Securities since 2012 as Securities and Risk Manager.
